Construction Project Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Construction Project Manager to join our team. If you have experience leading, managing and delivering successful commercial construction projects and want work for a builder that is committed to excellence and growth - this is the role for you!

In this role your responsibilities will include:

Responsibility for the project - plan, organise, lead and control the procurement/ execution and delivery of the project (up to $50M value).
Responsibility for all project safety, environmental and quality matters.
Project planning (MS Project) and forecasting (Cheops).
Building effective relationships with key stakeholders (both internal and external).
Lead/ manage the Site Manager to ensure all project milestones are achieved.
Manage, mentor Contract Administrators on your project.
Review of subcontractor agreements.
Interpretation of contract provisions to help resolve claims and questions submitted by subcontractors.
Monitor compliance to contract requirements ensuring all conditions are satisfied before approval and final invoice.
Contribute to building a caring and collaborative workplace culture.

To be considered for this role you require:

Construction Management & Economics Degree (or equivalent).
Approximately 7+ years in a contract administration role.
Strong stakeholder management experience.
Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Experience working for a mid-tier builder.
Cheops experience (highly desirable).
Current driver's license.

Undergraduate Contract Administrator

Applecross, Perth WA

Full time/ Part time

$65,000 + super (per annum)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Construction Management & Economics undergraduate to join our team in Perth.

If you want to pursue a career in commercial construction ($30 to $50M) working on a variety of projects including schools, aged care, recreational centres/ stadiums, with a head contractor, this is the role for you. In this role you get to see the ‘tangible’ result of your efforts. For example, liaise and issue a subcontract for concrete one day, see the concrete pour the next.

As an Undergraduate Contract Administrator, you will initially support the Pre-Contracts and Procurement team in the:

preparation of subcontractor agreements and once approved the administration of the agreement for signature, complete with relevant safety documents, drawings, project schedules etc...
measurement of material and quantity take-offs.
collection of certification documents from the subcontractor and completion of relevant Local Government forms.

This role provides a solid foundation to build internal relationships with project leaders and external relationships with our suppliers and subcontractors.

There will be an opportunity to move into a Contract Administration role in project delivery after 12 months of service.

Construction Management and Economics Degree - in progress (3^rd year student preferred).

This role is offered in either a part-time or full-time role with flexibility for university commitments. Typically, students work full-time whilst on semester break.

Safety Adviser

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Safety Adviser with a trade background to join our team!

Crothers is looking to appoint a safety adviser who is hands-on and experienced at supporting high-risk activities in the commercial building and construction industry. We are a commercial construction head contractor committed to the highest level of safety on our sites and as such require the knowledge, skills, and experience of a dedicated safety adviser to support our projects.

To be considered for this position you will have:

Hands-on experience (commercial building projects).
Valid Driver’s License.
Trade qualifications.
First Aid Certificate.
Ability to write/ verbally communicate with all levels of the workforce.
Computer skills (intermediate) MS Office preferred.
Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Assist with the maintenance of the Management System which includes scanning documents into the system, uploading statistics monthly and preparing reports (including reports to the OFSC).
Ensure databases are always up to date including pro-actively following up competencies, preparing evidence for audits and assurance activities throughout project life cycle.
General administrative support to all projects including assisting with inductions, site sign-in registers, work permits and statutory declarations.
Advise and support employees in all aspects of Safety including conducting training, safety meetings, risk assessments audits and inspections.
Assist with equipment maintenance and compliance of equipment including testing and tagging of electrical items, fire extinguishers (including site-based equipment) and conducting drills.
Assisting the Project team to ensure all Health and Safety activities are completed through planning, delivery, and implementation.
Assisting with audits of Health and Safety procedures.
Generate and distribution of regular safety related communications (newsletters, alerts etc…).

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is genuinely passionate about health and safety and who thrives on communicating with workers on-site about their health and safety. This role will be coached and mentored by the company's Safety and Systems Manager who is a well-respected, grass roots, industry veteran.
