Crothers Construction was recently awarded the construction contract for the delivery of a new $18M visitor café and function centre at Perth Zoo. The project consists of two separate work packages and will include demolition of existing site structures, bulk earthworks and services, construction, fit-out and landscaping works.
In the centre of the Zoo grounds, the café will provide a variety of food and beverage options, alfresco dining, as well as Zoo Visitor amenities, in an accessible and convenient location. The new function centre will be built on the western boundary of the Zoo with its own entrance catering for events, corporate functions, seminars and weddings.
Commencing later this month, the work signifies a major milestone in the 20-year Perth Zoo Master Plan and is a once in a generation, long-term redevelopment for Western Australia's State Zoological Park.
